Following the Prime Ministers announcement on Saturday evening we are regrettably having to close the salon again from Thursday 5th November until Thursday 3rd December.

Our number one concern is client and staff safety. We will maintain all safety measures already in place and anything additional we can do to make you safe on your return.

Thursday 30th July – THANK YOU!

I hope you and your families are all keeping safe and well.

I would firstly like to thank my staff for their dedication during these uncertain times. All the changes have been tough to get used to, but everybody has given their all to maintain safety for other staff and clients alike.

I would also like to say thank you for the overwhelming appreciation we have been shown from all our clients during this unprecedented time. The praise and feedback about our customer service and how we have made changes has been great to hear.

I understand that it must have been frustrating that we couldn’t get everyone in in the first few weeks as we would have loved to, thank you for all being so understanding and patient with us.

I hope if you have visited the salon since us re-opening that you have felt safe and that we are taking all the precautions necessary and if you haven’t been in yet we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Keeping safety in mind I have decided to extend the teams split so we can keep client and staff numbers to a minimum on each shift.

Starting in August we are changing the rotas slightly. Monday – Thursday will stay 7am-10pm. Then  each team will alternate Fridays and Saturdays and these days will go back to usual salon hours. Friday 9.30 – 6 and Saturday 8.30 – 5.30.

If you need information on who is working in each team or the team’s timetable, please call us to enquire. Our online bookings will remain off until further notice so please call us to book any  appointments you may need.

Keep safe,

Phil

Friday 3rd July 2020 – NEW SALON GUIDELINES

This is what your visit will look like…

When visiting the salon from July 4th the following guidelines will be put into place:

Our main priority for staff and clients is safety. We are asking everyone visiting the salon if they feel unwell or if you are showing any signs of COVID-19 to not visit the salon. This includes high temperature, a new or persistent cough and loss of taste or smell. We would rather re-schedule your appointment than take the risk of passing on the virus to others. You will not be charged for cancelled appointments due to illness. We will also be screening people prior to appointments.

·         Please do not arrive before your appointment time. We will not have a waiting area. We are asking all clients to wait outside the salon and your stylist will come and collect you when they are ready. Please come alone to your appointment.

·         All clients will be temperature checked on arrival with a contactless thermometer, anyone with a temperature of 37.8 or above we will have to re-schedule. If you don’t have your own, we will be providing disposable masks for you. If you refuse either, we will not be able to service you. There will be hand sanitiser for you to use at the front door.

·         You will be taken directly to your stylists’ station which will have been disinfected before you arrive along with all the stylist’s equipment.

·         You will have your consultation as usual at the station with the stylist. The stylist will be wearing a face mask and visor through your whole visit.

·         You will be shampooed at the basin which again would have been disinfected after each use.

·         You will be taken back to your station where your stylist will carry out your service.

·         We will not have any magazines, hot drinks or anywhere to keep personal belongings. If you bring a coat/jacket/bag you will have to keep them with you. We will be providing bottled water.

·         Once your service has been completed, your stylist will show you to reception where your bill will be taken.

·         We are asking all clients to pay by card. We will not be accepting cash payments until further notice. You can also call before your appointment to pay if you would prefer to do it over the phone.

·         The toilets will be open, and they will be cleaned throughout the day. There will be one for staff and one for clients.

·         The salon will be open longer hours until further notice. We will be opening 7am-10pm and the staff will be on split shifts to limit the number of people in the salon at one time.

·         We will only be allowing booked appointments taken by phone/email. Our online bookings will stay off until further notice. We will not be taking walk in appointments.

·         Due to staff rotas and restrictions you will be un-able to see two different stylists in one appointment. If you usually have two different people do colour and a cut, you will have to split your appointment or until the restrictions are lifted have one of them do your whole service.

·         We will not be offering home visits.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon 🙂

Thursday 2nd July – APPOINTMENTS BOOKED BEFORE LOCKDOWN

If you had an appointment booked before lockdown for after July 4th and we have been unable to contact you can you please contact the salon on 01707 662773. As we have had to change shifts and hours your appointment may not still stand and we may have to re-schedule.

Tuesday 30th June 2020

We would firstly like to thank you for your patience at this unprecidented time. We will be opening the salon again on Saturday 4th July.

We wanted to let you know that our phone lines will be open from 1pm today to book appointments. If you have sent an email or left a voicemail and we haven’t managed to get back to you please call back after this time and we will book you in as soon as possible.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Thursday 25th June 2020

In light of the Prime Ministers announcement on Tuesday evening telling us we can re-open on July 4th we are currently contacting all clients who had an appointment cancelled during the pandemic. If you are one of these clients please expect a call within the next few days to re-schedule. While we are still contacting these clients our phone lines will remain closed so we can contact everyone as quickly as possible. Once all of these clients have been offered an appointment we will re-open the phone lines so all other clients can call to book their appointments.

If you miss our call please email us on info@kaos.uk.net or leave us a voicemail and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

We will post an update here when the phone lines are open again for bookings.

Friday 12th June 2020

Dear Loyal Client,

We would like to start by thanking you for your ongoing support during these unprecedented times.

We are hoping for clearer government guidelines over the next few days/week or so. We are still unsure if us opening on the 4th July will go ahead. We are going to start re-scheduling clients who had an appointment cancelled within the next few days. We want to make it clear that these re-schedule appointments may again have to be moved once we receive a definite re-opening date from the government. We appreciate your continued co-operation with this matter. We understand its very frustrating but at the moment we have no clear guidance on when we can open and how we can open again.

We have prepared PPE for staff and clients that we believe will be needed and will arrange anything else that may be needed once the guidance has been released. We will be asking all clients to use hand sanitiser when they arrive at the salon and to wash your hands before you sit down at your station. We will provide you with a disposable mask and gloves that we will ask you to wear whilst you are in the salon. If you have your own to wear, please feel free to bring your own. All our gowns and towels have been put through our OTEX System. This system washes and disinfects our towels and gowns throughout the day. This system turns oxygen into ozone and injects it into our washing machines drum to kill 99.999% of harmful micro-organisms such as MRSA, E.Coli, Norovirus and C.difficile spores.

There will be hand sanitiser at points around the salon including at reception. All staff will have PPE to wear and all equipment, styling stations and basins will be sterilised between each client. Reception will have a screen protecting staff and clients and the credit card machine will be cleaned after each use. We are going to ask all clients to pay by card, we will not be accepting any cash payments for the time being. Where possible please use Apple Pay to reduce contact to the card machine.

As we are not able to operate at full capacity and with full staff, we are extending our opening hours until further notice. We will be spacing out appointments, so the stylist has chance to sterilise their equipment and station and so that there is no overlap of clients coming in and out. We understand that usually some of you may have more than one stylist. Until further notice, you can only have one stylist do your hair in one session. We understand this may be frustrating but for now we believe the best thing to do is to just have one stylist until restrictions have been lifted further.

When coming in for your appointment we are going to ask you to wait outside as we are not going to have any waiting area for you to sit down. We will be taking every clients temperature at the door on arrival with an infrared thermometer. If your temperature reads above 37.8C we will not be able to carry out your service that day and will have to re-schedule your appointment.

Your stylist will come and collect you from reception at your allocated appointment time. We ask that you come on your own and please be aware that we cannot service any children who are unable to come to the salon un-attended until further notice.

We will not be using our cloakroom facilities please try to avoid bringing coats and bags. If you do need to bring anything you will have to keep it on you during your visit. There will be no magazines, newspapers or drinks available.

We will have the doors and windows open as much as possible to allow ventilation and airflow and unfortunately, if you are more than 10 minutes late to your appointment you will have to re-schedule.

We hope that this answers some of your questions and re-assures you that we are taking all possible steps to keep everyone safe. We will keep you updated once we receive any further guidelines that will affect your visit or our re-opening.

We look forward to seeing you all again very soon.

Keep safe,

The KAOS Team

Tuesday 12th May 2020

In light of the update from the Prime Minister yesterday evening we are still unclear as to a date when we can open the salon again. Going by the NHBF advice we believe this may not be until July 4th at the earliest.

We are asking all clients who had a scheduled appointment to leave them where they are for now until we have a definite date of re-opening. We will then contact everyone who was booked in to prioritise those people before we re-open our online bookings. We feel this is the fairest option for those people who have been waiting for an appointment for some time.

We will keep you updated through our website as soon as we have some clearer information.

LIFTING LOCKDOWN RUMOURS – FROM THE NATIONAL HAIRDRESSING AND BARBERING FEDERATION

“Rumours have been doing the rounds on social media and in the newspapers about a plan for lifting lockdown restrictions. They suggested a three stage approach which could see hairdressers re-opening in the first stage on 11 May, followed by schools and small businesses on 25 May and a final stage from 15 June. The government has denied that any such plan has been approved.”

“The NHBF will not speculate on rumours which we feel are unhelpful. We are already talking to government officials about safe re-opening, balancing the need to earn money against risks of coronavirus. We are also preparing a guide to help salons and barbershops plan to re-open safely.”

This is the advice we are following so until further notice, the salon will unfortunately remain closed. If you had or have an existing appointment please bear with us, we will contact everybody as soon as we have a confirmed date we can re-open from the government.

If you have any questions please contact us by email on info@kaos.uk.net and we will get back to you.

Thursday 9th April 2020

We will be checking our voicemails and emails at 11am each morning and respond to all requests and messages daily.

Wednesday 8th April 2020

PHONE LINE CLOSURE

As there is no update on when we can reopen from the government yet, from tomorrow our phone lines will be closed.

You can contact us by email info@kaos.uk.net or if you prefer you can call us and press 1 to leave a voicemail and we’ll call you back.

HAIR COLOUR ADVISE

Due to the overwhelming response we have had for advice on what to do about your hair colour while we are closed we have decided to recommend colours that you can buy from your local supermarket rather than us sending out the colours that we would usually use at the salon as these are professional use only.

We think this will be the best option as they are already measured out and would come with all the items you would need as they are designed for consumer use. These may not offer the same coverage that you would normally get from salon colours but they should be sufficient to get you through this challenging time.

We are going to recommend colours that will possibly be slightly lighter than your usual colour, this is only to make sure that the colours don’t go too dark as this will then be difficult to correct when you can come back to the salon.

If you would like us to recommend you a colour you can buy please email info@kaos.uk.net and we will get back to you with a bit more information and the colour.

Monday 23rd March 2020

We regret to inform you that as of Tuesday 24th March our salon will shut for what we think will be three weeks in line with the latest guidance from the government.

I want to apologise for my staff and I not being able to service you, especially those of you that already have appointments scheduled within this time.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my team for their incredible dedication during this unprecedented time that we are all experiencing.

Please be assured that our phone lines will remain open for you to leave a message requesting a call back and you will also be able to book online for Tuesday 14th April onwards, unless we are advised otherwise.

We will keep you updated of any changes through our website.

Tuesday 17th March 2020

At KAOS the health and wellbeing of our clients and employees is our highest priority. With this in mind and given the current situation with COVID-19 we wanted to let you know the extra steps we are taking to keep our salon safe for you, us and others.

We have decided to operate a fewer client system during this time, allowing enough people to come and go without a large number of staff and clients at any one time.

Any online bookings may need to be re-arranged depending on the volume of people visiting  the salon.

We ask unless absolutely necessary, that you come to your appointment alone to help keep down the numbers in the salon.

We are also asking if possible, for all payments to be made by card. (the machine will be wiped down after every use)

We have currently disposed of all magazines, to help the risk of potential contamination. So, bring a book!

We have an OTEX system we use to wash and disinfect our towels and gowns throughout the day. This system turns oxygen into ozone and injects it into our washing machines drum to kill 99.999% of harmful micro-organisms such as MRSA, E.Coli, Norovirus and C.difficile spores.
It is 3500 times stronger than chlorine bleach.

We have elevated our already high standard of cleanliness, including additional cleaning and disinfecting procedures and frequency. We are making sure that all door handles, card readers, taps and salon equipment are being regularly cleaned with disinfectant and have provided hand sanitizer at reception and encourage clients and staff to use it frequently. We are also making sure employees understand the importance of thorough and frequent hand washing.

Finally, we ask if you are feeling unwell, to please re-schedule your appointment.

We appreciate your continued support with this matter.
